Agencies came together today to launch 'Have a Heart Give Smart', an initiative that encourages the generous people of Darlington to give to the charities that support those begging rather than to the person on the street. Read more
The premises of Darlington Connect have been upgraded to include toilet facilities for people with impaired mobility and additional 'confidential' spaces to accommodate the increasing demands on the service provided by the project. Read more
On the eve of the Coronation of Charles III, a celebration event with live music, food and side stalls took place within the community centre of St Augustine's Church. Originally planned as an outdoor event, inclement weather forced it inside, but the rain did not dampen the spirits of those who attended. Read more
It was a privilege to welcome the Chair of the Charity Commission, Orlando Fraser, to Darlington and to the 700 Club. He spent an hour in company of staff, board and service-users, listening, questioning and affirming the work of the charity. Read more
In a Jubilee week of celebration, the 700 Club marked its Silver Jubilee. From a small beginnings and an ambition to provide shelter for homeless people, the organisation has gone on to provide over 400,000. Thank you to everyone who has supported the charity over the years. Read more
On 23rd June the 700 Club held its first ever Jobs Fayre. It was a successful event, and some roles were filled. Staff were on hand to talk to visitors, and refreshments were also served. BUT if you missed it, it isn't too late, just read on. Read more
In June 2022 the 700 Club celebrated 25 years of service delivery in Darlington. Around 250 people called in consuming 340 bread buns filled with pork from a hog-roast. Side stalls, a bucking bronco, live music and sunshine made it a very special afternoon. Read more
To mark the Queens Platinum Jubilee and the Silver Jubilee of the 700 Club, an afternoon of fun is being held on June 9th in our Head Office Car Park from 12.00 to 15.00. Anyone who has worked with us or who has used our services over the last 25 years is welcome to attend. Read more
