Agencies came together today to launch 'Have a Heart Give Smart', an initiative that encourages the generous people of Darlington to give to the charities that support those begging rather than to the person on the street. Read more
The 700 Club works in partnership with agencies and organisations across the town to ensure that homelessness is prevented, and where it happens, responded to appropriately. Homelessness will not end when all homelessness charities are adequately funded, but when everyone views it as a moral outrage and acts together to change it.
In a Jubilee week of celebration, the 700 Club marked its Silver Jubilee. From a small beginnings and an ambition to provide shelter for homeless people, the organisation has gone on to provide over 400,000. Thank you to everyone who has supported the charity over the years. Read more
Each year the Nepacs Ruth Cranfield Awards highlight and celebrate examples of exceptional work by people in the North East in the cause of rehabilitating prisoners into society and helping to cut the risk of re-offending. The Darlington Housing Options Team and the 700 Club were among 19 organisations to be commended. Read more
After months in development, on 9th December, the first person to take up residence entered Church View Apartments. It was a significant moment for the 700 Club and for the people Darlington. Until now, the town has lacked supported move-on accommodation, but with the launch of this initiative 32 flats will be available where residents can cultivate the skills and confidence needed for independence. The 700 Club and Darlington Council's Housing Options Team are collaborating to deliver a "Housing First" pilot. Housing First is a new way of approaching the challenge of homelessness which has been successfully trialled in many areas of the world. Read more

After over a year in development, on the 5th October 2020, the keys to 32 newly developed flats within Church View Apartments were released to the 700 Club by the contractors. Over the next few weeks the building will be furnished, and then in late November a new Move-on service will begin operating from the building. Read more
In anticipation of its 25th Anniversary the 700 Club website has been refreshed to make navigation easier and to improve performance on hand-held devices. It has been designed to not only make an impact on visitors but offer an easy way to contribute to our work. Read more
In September the 24th AGM of the 700 Club took place. It was a very different occasion to previous years because of the Covid-19 pandemic. It was held on Zoom, so there were no speeches and no sandwiches. Nevertheless, the work of the organisation was celebrated and the Annual Report and Accounts were presented. Read more
