The UK is now moving to a new phase in the battle with COVID-19. Up to this point all the focus has been upon an immediate response to the virus, and upon erecting defences in order to avoid protection. However, the virus in terms of infection rate now seems to be on the decline, and organisations like the 700 Club are in the process of adjusting to a new normal. In terms of support during the response phase, funders have been brilliant, and although we have needed to spend a significant amount of money to protect staff and clients, organisations like the Mercers, Virgin Money Foundation, County Durham Community Foundation, and Darlington Borough Council have underwritten our costs. We owe them a great debt of gratitude.

Now it is time for learning to live in a world in which COVID-19 exists and poses a threat to normal life. We will have a continuing need to use PPE as we move into the Recovery stage. We will also have different ways of working with clients, Nevertheless, we will continue to provide support to the most vulnerable of Darlington's citizens.
