The 700 Club AGM was a well-attended event marking its 20th Birthday. It was Chaired by Lee Vasey JP, the Board Chairperson. Alongside the formal requirements of such occasions, the presentation of an Annual Report and Annual Accounts, the CEO John Elliston spoke about the work of the charity over the preceding year.  A cheque for £4800 was presented by Darlington Building Society as part of the Society's 160th Anniversary celebration to pay for 160 nights of accommodation at the Lodge for someone who has nothing. A plaque was preented by the Mayor, Councillor Brian Jones, in recognition of the work that the 700 Club does in Darlington. The meeting then heard from an ex-resident of St Georges Hall, who spoke lucidly and honestly about his journey out of alcoholism and the contribution that the 700 Club had made to that journey.
