What we do Accommodation: 29 units of accommodation linked to housing related support for people aged 18 and over, with medium to high support needs who are homeless, at risk of being homeless or who are housed in inappropriate accommodation within the Darlington area. Secondary issues may be addiction to drugs, problems with alcohol abuse, or a mental health problem. Referral is through Darlington’s Gateway Service. Floating Support: A specialist service focussed upon those with drug and alcohol problems and providing support in their own homes. Referral is via Darlington's Gateway Service Bridge2Home: Bridge2Home is a Bond Guarantee Scheme focussed upon those who are financially excluded from housing in the private rented sector because they lack the capital to provide a Bond. The scheme enters into an agreement with the landlord to guarantee the Bond for up to a year, no money will change hands, but in the event of damage, the landlord can claim against the Scheme up to the value of the Bond Guarantee. Agency or self-referral. Healthy Lifestyle Project: an initiative directed towards individuals who have other vulnerabilities, but whose lifestyle choices compromise their health. Emergency Food: Out of hours food is provided by the 700 Club at its hostel St. George's Hall in Elmfield Street. The store is available for access on all evenings and during the weekend when conventional food banks are closed. Agencies can refer people with whom they may have some involvement, but clients can also call at St. George's Hall without referral . The Lodge: Short term transitional housing for those who have nowhere to go. This facility is staffed 24/7 and will receive individual or couples (18+) at any time. Referrals are welcomed from Local Authority Housing Officers, the Probation Service, Hospital Discharge Teams, Social Services etc.
