Floating Support (Drugs and Alcohol)

Launched on October 1st 2011, the 700 Club  has been commissioned by Darlington Borough Council to provide housing related support to those people (16+)with drug and alcohol issues.

To ensure the best possible outcome for our clients we work in partnership with a large range of agencies to maximise opportunities and build a support network around each individual. The support offered is client led, and is based around the individual, which means the client is in control. Through support planning we will assist the client to identify their current needs as well as their future aspirations and goals.

 Clients can only be referred to this service through the Key Point of Access (KPA) following a comprehensive needs and risk assessment

 We work with the Local Authority’s Supporting People team to ensure that clients are supported to;

  • Take part in a range of community activities to improve general health & wellbeing
  • Increase their social networks and support them to maintain social and caring roles.
  • Access education, training and employment opportunities.
  • Live independently in the accommodation of their choice
  •  Manage their income.
  • Direct their own social care support through the use of a personal budget.
  • Leave housing related support services in a planned way.
  • Make positive choices about their lifestyle.

 Whilst supported by this service, clients are expected to engage with the support staff to address their issues, to  ) with alcohol or drug misuse problems. The length of support this service will offer will be for a maximum period of two years
